Pre/Post Natal
There is no more important time during a women's life to prepare their body than for the birth of a child and life after having one. In fact, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, ACOG, encourages exercise during and after pregnancy. However, whether a woman has exercised prior to her pregnancy or never at all, it is important that she trains with someone not only fully certified but also experienced in the contraindications of pregnancy and the post partum period. When looking for a trainer, note that they should hold a specialized Pre/Post Natal Certification from an accredited organization and should maintain 20hours + continuing education in Pre/Post Natal training. In addition, trainers should closely follow the ACOG guidelines for exercise. You can find more information on these guidelines at www.acog.org.
Vert. trainers are also willing and encourage the collaboration of the client's OB and/or Midwife and will go over the Program Design with the health provider.
